立秋时节，山东威海南海新区的湿地水系绿意盎然，生机勃发。在昌阳河下游的湿地滩涂，国家一级保护动物黄嘴白鹭成群在这里栖息觅食，勾勒出一幅清新秀美的生态画卷。

觅食的白鹭静立浅滩，雪白羽衣洁净无瑕，身姿轻盈灵动，脖颈曲成一道流畅的S形，眼珠凝视水下，像一尊素白的玉雕。突然，白鹭弯折的脖颈骤然弹射而出，尖长喙尖精准戳入水中，水花轻溅。转瞬抬头，细喙间夹着挣扎的小鱼，白鹭脖颈一扬，便将小鱼吞入腹中。

威海南海新区水域开阔、水质优良，为各类动植物的生长繁育提供了优越的自然条件，成为野生鸟类栖息活动的绝佳场所。

During the Start of Autumn, the wetland water systems of Weihai Nanhai New District in Shandong Province are lush and brimming with vitality. On the wetland tidal flats along the lower reaches of the Changyang River, flocks of Chinese Egrets — a national first‑class protected wild animal — roost and forage, unfolding a fresh and picturesque ecological scroll.

Foraging egrets stand still on the shallow shoals, cloaked in spotless snow‑white plumage. Lithe and agile, they bend their necks into a sleek S‑curve, eyes fixed intently beneath the water surface like statues carved from pale jade. All at once, their folded necks dart forward; long, sharp beaks pierce the water with pinpoint accuracy, sending tiny ripples splashing outward. In an instant they lift their heads, small wriggling fish clamped within their slender bills. A flick of the neck, and the egret swallows its prey whole.

Boasting expansive water bodies and excellent water quality, Weihai Nanhai New District creates favourable natural conditions for the growth and reproduction of diverse flora and fauna, making it a prime haven for wild birds.
